Mountain Rides, Distinctive Tours at Affordable Rates
Half Day Tours
These are designed for those staying in the Ellijay and Blue Ridge Georgia area. Most of the clients choosing this option are cabin renters that have found out after a day or two of relaxing on the porch by the creek that they want to explore the North Georgia area and need an excitement fix and ask for the off-road option.

Half Day Rides
Usually take place in the Chattachoochee National Forest. This National Forest is sub-divided into management areas regulated by the state. Popular mild off pavement tours cover the Cohutta, Blue Ridge, Cooper Creek, Chattahoochee, Warwomen, and other management areas. Off pavement rides in these areas are mostly relaxing and easy with wonderful scenery. Expect to see lakes, rivers, streams, waterfalls, wildlife, mountaintops, and beautiful plant life. Fall is the most popular time, but each season is beautiful in its own way. Winter offers solitude and Robert Frost type scenery. From time to time a nice snow ride is possible if the forest service doesn’t close too many gates. Spring arrives late to the mountaintops and offers an explosion of greenery highlighted by dogwood, rhododendron and mountain laurel blossoms. Summer is a time to get high up and escape the heat with pleasant evenings and day time creek and waterfall wading and maybe a dip if you don’t mind the still cold water!

If relaxing is not your thing and your looking for off road excitement it can be found in the Beasley Knob OHV area. There are a few areas Mountain Rides likes to keep to itself. Don’t worry, we’ll back of if you scream “UNCLE”!

Full Day Rides
These offer everything the half day rides offer and more of it. This package also allows an individual from the Metro Atlanta area to have time to “ride around the mountains” and still sleep in their own bed that night. For those already in the mountain region it allows for a much more in-depth investigation of the region. For some it allows time for a ride on the Cherohala Skyway (the highest paved road east of the Mississippi) and still have time to see the Joyce Kilmer stand of old growth trees. Some clients enjoy paved roads, antique shops and a stop at the casinos at Cherokee North Carolina, others want to find out why the Tellico OHV area has a national repetition as one of THE places to go for off-roading.

Multi-day Trips
Can be ANYTHING the client’s hear desires as long as we can go and get back to the Ellijay area in 4- 8 hour days.

Cross-Country
The “Road Trip” option – the possibilities are endless. Anything except Hawaii. Yes, even the Alaskan Highway. If that is a bit much picture Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, Grand Canyon, 4-wheeling in the Moab area, see the Sequoias and redwoods of California, Death Valley, the Big Bend of Texas- the list goes on……

Off Roading Lessons
Takes place on secluded, seldom used rough roads in the Ellijay area. No one will know you have been practicing and your guide will keep you out of anything from which the client couldn’t be winched.
